Finding Autonomy in your Career

If you want to find more autonomy in your career or business then where should you start? Here are three simple steps to help you take charge immediately.

What‘s the big goal?

If it’s for your business, what is the exit strategy in 10 or 20 years time? What would the ideal scenario look like for you? If it’s for your career, what does success look like for you and how will you know that you have ‘made it’? If you can’t answer either of those questions then now is the time to figure out your end game. If you know what you have in mind for the future then you can start taking greater control over your decisions - what you say yes to and what you say a big fat no to.

You have to plan to deliver

If you have big goals, they are useless if you are not building them into your everyday. Take those big goals and map out a few key milestones underneath them. Then use our quarterly planner to put some key actions into your near-term. Take control of your working week, month and year by working more intentionally through planning.

Get moving, get doing.

Nothing is going to happen if you don’t get moving and take action. Don’t be overwhelmed with actions. Tick off one action at a time and it’ll become second nature. You might not be able to do everything you want and as quickly as you want, but taking action towards your goals and gradually seeing results will push you further to take more action.
